In the last few months several of our friends have said to us, “I do not know how you handle all of the crap you guys get on the internet.” Most of the time our response to them is, “We do our best to try to ignore it, but it is surprisingly hard.”
“This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals—sounds that say listen to this, it is important.”—
“The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful.”—Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray (via withasecret)
First a little background on why I did this. The other day with all the Mu craze on my dash, I came across several comments of why he didn’t fit the classic Aries stereotype, which is a very reasonable question that I have asked myself before.
So there’s two answers as I see it:
Kurumada didn’t take into account the sign’s natural traits when designing him and/or opted for the image of the Golden Ram from mythology as the helpful one to save the kids from danger (transporting the bronzies out of danger from the Silver Saint Misty mirrors the golden Ram saving Phrixus and Helle from their stepmother attempt to kill them). The reasonable explanation
Mu’s Ascendant sign (and all the rest of planets) must be very influential over his solar sign. The fangirlish explanation.
Granted, Astrology is a pseudo science at most, and I personally take it very lightly IRL, though it attracts me as much as any kind of personality test I find, haha, but we’re here talking of the natal chart of a character in which universe these things are taken as facts (guardian stars and what not). There’s no helping with the relation to the horoscope either, being him, well, ARIES Mu.
