  I have to say, the entire Hades - Sanctuary saga. I mean holy shit we get so much insight into his character, mostly because there’s so much intense shit happening to him. We already had the passiveness from the other seasons; Hades gave us his incredulity upon seeing Shion, his anger with Deathmask and Aphrodite, his betrayed look with the Trio of Lamentation, that sad anger from Aldebaran’s death, his utter ruthlessness with Myu, the sorrowful resignation for Shaka’s death — by the time he executes the Athena Exclamation with Aiolia and Milo (BROT3) you can see he is just. SO. DONE. sfdsljfd my precious ram

• a somewhat deep description of why i love them so much
  Though some of it has to do with an Aries pride, I don’t think that pride would have been there in the first place if Mu weren’t such a deliciously enigmatic and complex character. I’ve seen a lot of people saying he is boring; I will agree he is not an easy character to decipher. He’s pretty much a “still waters run deep” kind of character, you have to be pretty attentive to both his rare overt displays of emotion and to the many moments he subtly gives us a glimpse of what he’s not letting out.
  He’s also someone who’s largely worked on the background, planning, waiting; I have to admit I identify with how inquisitive he is, both with situations and with people. uwu …and with how much of an info dumper he is, I identify with that too—
  Also I love how he’s gentle and polite and undoubtedly good but that doesn’t mean he is nice at all — nice people don’t threaten their comrades or respond them with passive-aggressiveness. He is sassy as fuck~

2: Do they have any daily rituals?
If by daily rituals you mean something they do together in family: hair. The Aries Family is cursed with luscious long hair, and so they care for it accordingly when they wake up and before they sleep. For example, you have Shion, whose bedhead is so wild it takes the combined effort of the four of them to manage it properly. Mu lets Kiki shine his hair with a boar bristle brush, and then he gets Raki to braid it to “develop her dexterity”. He also tries to no avail to get Kiki’s hair to fall in a neater way……. but it’s okay, Raki loves brushing it anyway~. In fact, Raki gets a blast everytime. Hell, you would too if you had three men putting your hair up in pretty styles and cute accessories.

3: Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?
Of course they do, they’re saints after all. uwu Their daily physical regimen consists mostly of sparring, both to keep their reflexes sharp and to hone their personal styles, since they rarely ever need to use physical strength. Well, Raki doesn’t spar yet — at the stage she is in her training, she’s undergoing a series of endurance tasks Kiki assigns her, such as hanging upside down from a cliff for a few days, or making her climb a few mountains without the need for safety equipment. They all climb once in a while.

5: Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)
Well, Shion is pretty fucking anal about orderliness, except he won’t lift a finger to ensure it is maintained (243 years of being pampered by servants will do that to you). He will order people to clean up after themselves, as if he were incapable of making messes himself. Also, after he came back all young and pretty he got insufferably vain about his personal hygiene (“You don’t know how amazing it is to feel young until you get old”), to the point that most of the sheep milk reserves they have actually go to his baths. (If the blood they store weren’t so damn valuable and crucial to their trade, he’d seriously consider going full Bathory.)
Mu is kind of a neat freak himself, except he is much more passive-aggressive about it. He’ll clean up after everyone’s messes right in front of them without making a sound, a tactic that assures the perpetrator will think about all their mistakes (it doesn’t work on Shion). He doesn’t mind getting dirty and sweaty at all, as long as there’s a warm bath waiting for him in the end. He takes a lot of pride in smelling nice. uwu Hell, he’ll even share some of Shion’s sheep milk baths, better to have petal soft skin than wasting perfectly good milk.
Kiki, well… it’s a good thing he’s grown past the stage where he ran off from baths and now takes proper care of his hygiene. He is not fussy at all, and he’ll clean up the pagoda quite thoroughly……….except he never puts anything in its original place (he tends to put it where he thinks he’ll need it afterwards), to Mu’s dismay.
THANKFULLY Raki hasn’t gotten that trait from her master. She is pretty diligent and will remember the way everything is set up around the tower, though she still thinks cleaning = vaguely wiping with some fleece rag. As for baths? Let’s say Kiki never had with her the trouble Mu had with him, lol. Even washing her hair is fun to her, as she gets to make sculptures from her lathered up hair. Wait until she discovers bubble baths.
…AND THEN YOU HAVE THEIR WORKSHOP. Right on the entrance there’s a plaque with ἈΠῸ ΞΆΟΣ ΓΈΝΕΣΙΣ engraved on it. That should tell you enough.

20: Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?
Well, aside from the usual winter pneumonia… (Raki never got it though, perhaps because Kiki tends to move a lot more)

21: Turn-ons? Turn-offs?

• The man’s old-fashioned, you bet he loves courtship. He also loves being surprised in those little ways that just leave him speechless.
• Nothing can irritate him faster than people sucking up to him. He likes true loyalty, goddammit, not some empty brown-nosing.

Mu

• With Mu it’s all about trust. Trust him, and give him reasons to trust you, and he’ll be yours. Being smart also helps quite a lot.
• Stupidity, falseness to one’s beliefs, rashness, abuse — basically the moment he judges you is the moment he’s turned off lmao

Kiki

• He loooooooooooves protecting. even if (or maybe especially if) the person doesn’t think they need protection. He’ll teach you how to protect yourself and then protect you anyway just because of the thrill.
• …his turn-offs are the same as Mu tbh, the kid was taught well lol

Raki

• …….she’s way too young to know her turn-ons but she already know she is MAJORLY turned off by creepsters and suspicious people in general.

27: What is their biggest regret?
Hmmm, Shion still has a lot of remorse over having even considered Rune’s offer back then.
Mu doesn’t regret it per se, but he often wonders what would have happened if he had actually tried telling the truth about Shion to some of his companions before it all hit the fan.
Same thing with Kiki; would the old Sanctuary be still up had he acted earlier? Then again he probably already had Raki to take care of. Though Kiki honestly doesn’t seem the kind of person to bear regrets. yolo all up in this shit

33: Concept of home and family?
That is one thing they all share actually. Home is where they feel the most safe. Their masters are their parents; the disciples, their children. Their brothers in arms are brothers indeed in all but blood. Nothing is as uplifting in war as being able to fight for and beside their partner.

36: What makes them feel guilty?
Holy shit it KILLS Shion whenever he has to resort to abuse upon his loved ones to get things done. He’s got a lot of machiavellian pragmatism, but it always gets in conflict with his noble-hearted and nurturing nature.
Mu feels guilty over a lot of things, lol. He feels guilty over being secretive to people he is fond of, even if he can’t exactly help it. He knows people try to reach out to him and knows he is very slow to trust, and that is another source of guilt. Seeing people like Aiolia makes him feel guilty for taking so long to take action, until he goes like “what, no, that was stupid”.
Kiki….. doesn’t feel guilty over a lot of things tbh lol He probably doesn’t really like hurting kids to do his job BUT I WOULDN’T BET ON IT YOU KNOW.
As for Raki… she’s pretty hard on herself when it comes to making Kiki proud of her, even if he’s very encouraging of her in general. :c

38: What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?
For Shion, it’s a nice, heartfelt conversation with Dohko, even if he has to do it through telepathy. For Mu it’s solitude until the solitude becomes loneliness and then it drains him and then he just. waits. Kiki likes roaming, seeing new sceneries and faces. Raki will take a nap. uwu

44: Superstitions or views on the occult? [[HEAVY HEADCANON TERRITORY HERE]]
It’s rather ironic to ask that about them considering they’re usually the subjects of superstitions and occult studies themselves, and know for facts the things that most people dismiss as legends or mere charlatanism. Tibetan villagers and nomads tend to regard them as auspiscious sights, bringers of protection and healing. Outsiders may think Jamir is Shambhala, except Shambhala is underground, and the Aries will promptly remind you of that. Kiki used to con explorers into believing this tiny ass crystal cave was the Hidden City, and laugh his ass off when they returned home believing every word of it. Shion was even observing from Sanctuary the expeditions the Thule Society sent for Tibet in search of Shambhala (he obviously had his spies). He still scoffs at the Nazi corpses that found themselves amidst the Cloth Cemetery.
They do have their superstitions, though, if that’s what you want to call the vestiges of their Hephaestian worship. The Continent of Mu was to Hephaestus what Atlantis was to Poseidon; the Hephaestian Cult survives both in the smaller temples erected alongside Athena’s places of worship and in the rites involved in Cloth Smithing — such as the offering of the lighting of the forge or the blessing of the tools. Kiki “performs” a very simplified version of the rites after the meteor changed the structure of the Cloths, though, no more than a mental aedo of sorts.

48: If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?
Shion used to be really fucking anal about being technical, until he got old and grumpy and now he just tosses the person upwards with telekinesis and to hell with it, he doesn’t have time for this petty shit.
Mu is all about defense: he keeps his ground firmly and waits patiently for an opening for him to immobilize his opponent with swift, ample and precise movements.
Kiki prefers to get over with it quickly, so he goes all out — unless he really wants to rub it in, then he WILL drag the fight on.
As for Raki, for now her strategy is more to “stone the foe until they flee”. It’s been working fine so far.

18: Favorite beverage?
Mu is a tea man~ though he doesn’t discriminate. He’ll share some chimarrão with Aldebaran, sip masala chai and first-grade darjeeling with Shaka, chat with Dohko over some cups of jasmine pearls and even taste Aphrodite’s floral blends. Tea is a social activity to him (which is saying a lot considering how unsocial he is); it kind of disappoints him that only Kiki will join him for some butter tea. :c

19: What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
First he’ll methodically go through a mental checklist of all he accomplished during the day, then set his goals for the next. Depending on the point of his timeline and/or whether the AU is supposed to be happy or sad, he’ll let his thoughts drift to Shion (which will almost surely result in a nightmare afterwards, and he’ll wake up during the night with his telekinesis going awry and breaking something), to Kiki, or to whatever it is that made him happy.
…he’s not good at this “emptying the mind” business at all.

• 1: What does their bedroom look like?
  His bedroom in Jamir is actually fairly cluttered, though not so much with personal possessions. It’s mostly ancient relics from his clan and some bits and bobs he thinks might be useful in the future (it’s a smith thing, smiths are pretty notorious hoarders). His bed is modest but comfortable, with cashmere blankets and sheepskin pelts. Beside his bed there’s always a pile of books he regularly studies.
  In the Aries temple his chambers are considerably less personalized. A too big bed with too crisp linens await him in a too big room with too perfect bas-reliefs made of too white marble. The only thing he brought with him were his tools, his books and the carved wood chest with his clothes.
• 2: Do they have any daily rituals?
  The one ritual he’s kept was to reserve an hour before sleep to brush and catch up on his reading. He used to count the days whenever he woke up.
• 4: What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?
  He probably never had trouble with the kitchen being busy… Though if he did find himself in such predicament, he’d probably passive-aggressively do whatever he needed to do from the doorway with his telekinesis. He wouldn’t even move a muscle when the offender freaked out from the carrots and turnips flying around on their own.

Shaka

• 6: Eating habits and sample daily menu
  Lacto-vegetarian. Shaka likes really spicy food, and he’s got different ayurvedic masalas for every aspect of his energy he feels is unbalanced. He does not exactly eat frequently, but he’s got a healthy appetite that really betrays his bony frame.
  He’ll typically start his day with some fresh fruits and naan dipped in spicy sauce, and then just fill his stomach with tea throughout the day. On cooler weather he might have some curry or soup for lunch. His one indulgence are the sweets Mu makes.
• 7: Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
  Meditation is never wasted time, he will tell you. His time is very well spent trying to decipher the mysteries of the universe, thank you very much.
• 8: Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging
  Indulgences are fine, he will say, as long as one does not succumb to desiring such indulgences, as desire will lead to suffering. Well, he can sleep in the parinirvana position just fine, but he prefers reclining on his silk cushions. Well, his hair could certainly qualify as an indulgence too….

Kiki

• 12: Favorite book genre?
  He kind of really likes fantasy/adventure, even as an adult…
• 22: Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
  Doodles. He actually got the habit of scribbling from his master, though while Mu scribbled mostly designs and nature, Kiki prefers drawing people himself. You bet half the sheet of paper will be filled with sketches of Mu; he finds it makes it easier for him to remember his face like that.
• 41: Hobbies?
  Doodling, cooking (Raki is his judge!), disassembling stuff to figure out how they work… yep, mostly that~

Let me notice just a little thing. Yes, it’s the same technique and they do look alike but still, the sole reason Kiki is using it so early marks a strong difference between the two.

Mu would have used Crystal Wall to hold off intruders as long as he could and amuse himself watching them hurt themselves trying to cross it, his temper wouldn’t allow him to go full power on simple mob.  

Kiki on the other hand, since he’s never been that patient, charges with all that he’s got to get rid of them quickly, hence using his master’s most powerful attack. Anyway I think we already saw he’s pretty rash by the way he fixes clothes, right? xD

and… yeah I love my rams let me be :U

While Mu believes in pacifism and is like “A Crystal Wall will hold them out. I won’t raise my hand against them”, Kiki is more of a fan of efficiency and is like “Fuck this shit, Starlight Extinction will take care of like 5000 of them at a time. IT’S JUST QUICKER.”
